How LVS Trading collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated: 8 November 2026.
Who is responsible
LVS Trading is a trading name of LVS Enterprises Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16912709. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For any privacy request or concern, contact taha@lvstrading.co.uk. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as one is not required for a business of our size and activities.
Information we collect
When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, including your name, work email, company, country, role, website, the product, quantity, port, delivery terms and timing of your requirement, and your message.
If we work together, we collect information needed for KYC and sanctions checks, such as company registration documents and details of owners, directors and authorised signatories. We check this manually against public sources, including Companies House and other official company registers, and official sanctions lists such as the UK sanctions list.
Information from other sources: to find businesses that may want to buy or sell commodities, we collect business contact details of company directors and staff (name, job title, company, work email and work phone number) from public sources such as Companies House, public trade data and company websites, and from business contact-data providers. We use these details only to contact the business about relevant trade opportunities. Every email we send explains how to opt out, and we stop contacting you as soon as you ask.
When you send an enquiry through our website, your details are saved in our enquiry database and emailed to our inbox, and we send you a short confirmation email. To limit repeated submissions, our spam protection stores a scrambled (hashed) network identifier and a request count for up to one hour. Our website logs do not record the content of enquiries. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies; see our Cookie Policy.
Why we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, contact businesses about relevant trade opportunities, verify counterparties, arrange and coordinate trades, protect our website from misuse and meet applicable legal obligations, including sanctions requirements.
Our lawful bases are: legitimate interests, to manage business enquiries, to contact businesses about relevant trade opportunities, to verify counterparties and to prevent misuse; steps towards, or performance of, a contract when we work with you; and legal obligations where they apply. Sending an enquiry does not sign you up for marketing.
Sharing and overseas processing
We use service providers who process information on our behalf: Cloudflare (website hosting and our enquiry database, stored in Western Europe), Resend (email delivery), Upstash (spam protection, United Kingdom) and Google Workspace (email). To find business contact details we may use business contact-data providers. We may also share information with professional advisers, and with the other party in a deal where needed to complete it. We do not sell personal information.
Some of these providers are based in, or may process information in, countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where this happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK–US data bridge for certified companies) or contract terms approved by the Information Commissioner's Office. You can ask us for details using the contact above.
How long we keep information
Website enquiries that do not lead to business: 24 months. Business contact details used to contact companies: 24 months from our last contact, and we stop contacting you straight away if you ask; we keep a minimal record of your request so that we do not contact you again. Client, KYC and deal records: 5 years after our relationship ends. Spam-protection records: one hour.
After these periods, information is deleted or anonymised. We may keep information for longer only where we need it for a legal claim or a legal obligation.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation, and to direct marketing at any time. Contact us using the details above. Some rights have conditions or exemptions.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us if you have a concern about your information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.
Submitting an enquiry is voluntary. If you do not provide the information needed to assess it, we may be unable to respond or proceed.
